Expands access to DirectStart adherence communications

Adheris, Inc., an inVentiv Health company, has entered a partnership with Allscripts to provide medication adherence solutions to help physicians provide relevant medication education to patients. The partnership incorporates the Adheris DirectStart solution with Allscripts’ Electronic Health Record/e-prescribing platform, which is used by 130,000 physicians nationwide.
The combination of Adheris’ adherence services with Allscripts Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform allows physicians to print and deliver information to patients, including the medication name, indication, usage, pharmacy address for e-prescription, and the importance of taking the medication as prescribed. Additionally, customized follow-up communications can be sent by the physician via e-mail, mail or via patient portal to remind patients to stay on their prescribed course of therapy.
