Aims to establish best practices in the application of model-based techniques

Process Systems Enterprise, Ltd. and Pfizer have formed the Systems-based Pharmaceutics Alliance (SbP Alliance) aimed at developing a single model-based framework for drug substance and product manufacturing, oral absorption, and pharmacokinetics. The goal of the Alliance is to establish best practices in the application of model-based techniques, which will be incorporated in validated, commercial-quality software to help solve industry-related problems.

The alliance, which includes a second undisclosed pharma company, is exploring opportunities to partner with additional companies to meet the Alliance’s goals.
