Astellas US Names Medical Affairs SVP

Bloss to serve as a member of the management committee

Jeffrey D. Bloss, M.D., has been promoted to senior vice president, Medical Affairs Americas, Astellas Scientific and Medical Affairs (ASMA). Dr. Bloss will serve as a member of the Astellas US Management Committee.

Dr. Bloss joined the company in October 2012, and has been responsible for leading the America's Regional Medical Affairs function. He also had direct oversight of the Medical Affairs functions in Canada and Brazil, establishing strong collaborations with other functions throughout the company to optimize medical/scientific value across the product lifecycle. 
 
Prior to joining the company, he was vice president and head of Oncology Global Medical Affairs at GlaxoSmithKline, and he served in various leadership roles at Eli Lilly and Co., Genentech and Onyx Pharmaceuticals.
