Adents, a provider of serialization and track-and-trace software solutions for the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries, has named James (Jim) Cummings as vice president, Americas. A 30-year veteran of B2B systems sales, Mr. Cummings will be overseeing Adents’ operations in the Americas; this comes in addition to his previous responsibilities of setting up and managing a partner network to support the company’s entry into North and South America.
Widely known in Europe, Adents recently opened a U.S. office in Princeton, NJ as it continues to make inroads into the North American pharmaceutical sector. Mr. Cummings will play a key role in this expansion, both through a sales oversight position and his ongoing mandate to identify, contract and train new partners, serving as an Adents advocate while supporting their overall sales efforts.
Mr. Cummings has an extensive background in instrumentation, automation and information systems for manufacturing. He was a founder and president of a systems integration company that delivered solutions to several industries, with a focus primarily in the Life Science industries. In this role, he was instrumental in establishing the company’s expertise in computer system validation and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. Solutions delivered were turnkey, followed GAMP 5 methodology, and included system validation.
Prior to joining Adents, Mr. Cummings worked for Avanceon, where he led a life science industries sector initiative to organize and manage a global network of engineering offices in support of packaging line serialization. Here, he partnered with a major serialization software vendor to introduce, sell and implement these solutions globally, and was responsible for training of both engineers and sales personnel.
“Jim’s extensive background in software serialization makes him a great asset to us as we introduce Adents Pharma Suite, a powerful serialization solution that combines high accuracy with fast implementation and user simplicity, to the Americas,” said Christophe Devins, chief executive officer, Adents.
