Mary Pan has been appointed vice president, Asia Pacific, ICON, where she will lead growth and expansion efforts in the region. Also, Hiroshi Ichikawa has been appointed vice president and general manager of ICON's operations in Japan.
Ms. Pan has more than 15 years of global pharmaceutical and clinical development expertise with a strong track record in Asia. She joins the company from Becton Dickinson, a medical technology company, where she was head of strategy and innovation in Asia. Prior to that she was managing director, Asia-Pacific, for ClinTec International. Mary has also held senior medical affairs and clinical development roles in Crucell (Johnson & Johnson) and Pfizer.
Hiroshi Ichikawa has 30 years of CRO and pharmaceutical industry experience in Japan and previously served as executive vice president and senior director of the Regulatory Science Department at A2Healthcare Corp., an ITOCHU company. Ichikawa-san was also president and chief executive officer of Asklep Inc. following its acquisition of PPCJ Corp., a CRO he founded in 2008. Ichikawa-san also spent 16 years in leadership positions with CMIC Japan and was Project Leader for the Clinical Development Division of Sankyo.
