Hill Top Research has expanded its CRO Services group with four new project managers. Kristin Shepard, Jeff Berg, Sandy Meyer and Mary Tapke will serve as project managers for the growing demand of multi-site trials the company has been contracted for in specialty therapeutic categories.
Ms. Shepard previously worked for Kimberly-Clark for fifteen years as senior study manager/research scientist, where she was responsible for the design and implementation of clinical studies involving medical devices and personal care products. She served for five years as clinical trial monitor for infant trials and for six years as clinical trial monitor for incontinence and women’s health care trials. Her responsibilities included project management, investigator and site selection, protocol and informed consent writing, study initiation, analysis, presentation and reporting. Ms. Shepard also has 13 years professional nursing experience.
Mr. Berg has served as associate technical director for the last two years at Hill Top Research and also served as investigator/sub-investigator on many studies. Mr. Berg began his career at the company in June 1997 as a study coordinator and was promoted to study manager in 1999 where he coordinated and supervised multiple studies. Prior to joining the company, he was a member of the scientific staff of the Pier Aquarium in St. Petersburg, FL.
Ms. Meyer joins the company from The Procter & Gamble Co. with 15 years of clinical research experience. For the past seven years, she held the position of clinical research associate. From 1996 to 1998, she served as skin safety lab manager and skin grading expert for P&G and from 1988-1996, she was the consumer health and safety consultant. Prior to that, Ms. Meyer worked as a hospital staff nurse, director of nursing at Crystalwood Assisted Living Center, and at Upjohn Healthcare. She has managed multiple studies in a broad geographic spectrum including China, Greece, Chile, and throughout North America. She is a recognized expert in mucosal and skin irritation assessment and training.
Ms. Tapke also joins the company from P&G where she served as a research scientist for the past seven years. She has served as the clinical execution team leader on many projects, as well as working collaboratively with data management, regulatory, biometrics, clinical pharmacology and pharmacokinetics, to ensure excellence in project execution. She has been responsible for planning and monitoring studies at single and multiple sites, as well as the point of contact with service providers. From 1999 to 2004, she served as clinical project manager for Phase II studies at P&G. She also has 17 years in the health care field as chief technologist, radiology at Cincinnati hospitals and associate director at the Cancer Care Center, St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Edgewood, KY.
