ICON has launched a new functional resourcing strategy through a single DOCS division. DOCS has developed the FSP Delivery Platform combining DOCS’ global resourcing engine with processes, oversight, systems, and training and governance structures aimed at driving productivity through flexible FSP models. The new Platform also leverages ICON’s therapeutic, geographic and functional capabilities across customer programs.
Barry Balfe, vice president of Global Program Management, will lead the DOCS FSP business. Mr. Balfe has 12 years of clinical research experience and has held leadership positions in both operations and business development for DOCS.
“Functional resourcing and FSP continue to grow in popularity as sponsors look for innovative outsourcing strategies that enable them to gain efficiencies and accelerate the development of their pipelines,” said Colin Stanley, president, DOCS. “DOCS’ core competency is providing highly talented teams with skills and experience that are aligned with the needs of our clients and which seamlessly integrate with their business. Our new FSP Delivery Platform builds on this competency and also allows clients to benefit from the breadth and depth of capabilities and expertise from the wider ICON organization.”
