Grand River Breaks Ground on Major Expansion

With the support of The Right Place & the MEDC, the 60,000 sq ft facility is expected to be operational by 2020

The Right Place, Inc., in collaboration with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the City of Grand Rapids, announced that Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing will be expanding to a new location at 524 Butterworth St. SW in Grand Rapids.

This expansion will result in the creation of 107 new jobs and a capital investment of $60 million.

The new 62,400 square foot building on Butterworth St. will house additional production space, with state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging and allow GRAM to increase its automation capabilities. The site’s features will also include two formulation suites, isolators, vial filling, inspection services, lyophilization, labeling, packaging, and more.

The facility will be two floors, and include 14,500 sq ft of manufacturing and packaging space, 12,000 sq ft of mechanical and electrical space, 8,000 sq ft of office space, 2,000 sq ft of lab space, and an additional 16,500 sq ft for future expansion. Customer viewing rooms adjacent to formulation suites will be included as well. The site marks the largest expansion in company history.
