Valeant Pharmaceuticals and Metabasis Therapeutics, Inc.'s agreement with Schering-Plough Corp. for the assignment and license of development and commercial rights to pradefovir has closed. The close follows the early termination by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvement Act of 1976.
