Melbourn Scientific has promoted laboratory manager, Derek Solomon, to operations director. Mr. Solomon joined the company in 2005 and has overseen the expansion of the services portfolio, including the recent addition of clinical manufacture to its formulation development services.
 
Chairman Steve Westcott said, “As a company we have seen year on year organic growth and, despite uncertain economic times, have hit and exceeded our targets. Derek has been instrumental in developing the depth and breadth of our services and it is with pleasure that we welcome him to the board.”

Mark Hammond, chief executive officer said, “Derek’s promotion will help leverage the company’s capacity for continued growth. The role of operations director is new to the company and will help us to deliver all our projects to a consistently high standard and to see opportunities to offer additional services.”
