The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has extended the period of a temporary stop-work order for Tekmira Pharmaceuticals TKM-Ebola program. Tekmira anticipates notification whether the DoD will cancel the stop-work order, extend it further, or terminate the contract, by October 31, 2012.
 
On August 6, 2012, Tekmira received a temporary stop-work order for its TKM-Ebola program due to recently imposed funding constraints at the DoD. TKM-Ebola is being developed under a contract awarded by the U.S. government's Transformational Medical Technologies Program. Other contractors have received similar notices based on DoD funding constraints.
