Sartorius, Südpack In Polymer Films Pact

Sartorius Stedim Biotech (SSB) and Südpack Medica AG have signed an exclusive 10-year agreement for the development, manufacture and supply of polymer plastic films for the biopharmaceutical market.

Sartorius Stedim Biotech (SSB) and Südpack Medica AG have signed an exclusive 10-year agreement for the development, manufacture and supply of polymer plastic films for the biopharmaceutical market. Südpack will produce plastic film materials for SSB for the manufacture of single-use bags and systems used by customers in the pharmaceutical industry for cell cultivation, transportation and storage of biopharmaceutical liquids.

The two companies will also collaborate on the development of multi-layer films with improved product characteristics to be employed in single-use bioreactors. The first product innovations from are expected in approximately one year.

Cooperation with SSB is now an important step into the new, promising markets of the future.
