Ricerca Biosciences’ partnership with Instem, a provider of lab data and information management solutions, has resulted in the development of a new approach aimed at eliminating potential misdosing during drug safety studies.

The goal of the collaboration was to improve quality management processes for clients and ensure study data integrity, according to Ricerca. The Ricerca team created the requirement specifications and Instem enhanced its Provantis software, enabling it to automatically verify and control correct dosing before administration by using existing bar code technology. According to the company, the enhanced functionality replaces manual controls and streamlines the drug dosing process, eliminating the potential for errors.

“We have been using the Provantis system for years,” stated Stéphane Bulle, senior vice president and general manager at Ricerca’s Lyon site. “Implementing this enhancement improves our exacting quality and productivity standards and assures our clients of timely, accurate and reliable study data. This project illustrates Ricerca’s innovative approach to drug safety studies.
