Jason Vaughn, Ph.D. has been named director of Formulation Development at DPT Laboratories. Dr. Vaughn will oversee preformulation development, formulation development and commercial support activities, including raw material sourcing, API compatibility with excipients, stability of API, method development and transfer, API characterization, formulation and packaging compatibility, stability/formulation stress testing, antimicrobial effectiveness testing, rheology/viscosity, and formulation container closure compatibility assessment.

Dr. Vaughn was previously vice president of operations at PharmaForm, LLC where he was responsible for the management of platform R&D activities and intellectual property. He also managed GMP manufacturing, quality control and project management.

“Jason brings a breadth of experience to the R&D team,” said Frank Sorgi, vice president of R&D. “His experience in drug development, analytical method validation and knowledge of metered-dose inhalation enables him to enhance our continuum of services.”
