Quintiles has signed an agreement to acquire Encore Health Resources, a health-information analytics and technology services company focused on performance-improvement initiatives. Encore has more than 300 employees throughout North America, including approximately 250 consultants. Its primary business centers on implementation and advisory services for electronic health records (EHR). Financial terms were not disclosed.

It will be a key strategic addition for our business that will extend our services suite and allow us to work with Encore to strengthen its provider-focused solutions.”

The transaction, subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to close in 2Q14. Encore will join Quintiles’ Integrated Healthcare Services segment as Encore, A Quintiles Company.
