BMS Expands Senior Management Team

Caforio, Bancroft, Gordon, and Cazala take on new roles

Giovanni Caforio has been appointed executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Bristol-Myers Squibb. In this newly created position, Mr. Caforio will lead all of the company’s commercial units across all geographies, and will be responsible for the global commercial strategy and the performance of commercial operations worldwide. Mr. Caforio most recently served as president, U.S.
 
Charles Bancroft, executive vice president and chief financial officer, will take on an expanded role that includes the business development and strategy groups. Mr. Bancroft will be responsible for developing an integrated approach to finance, business development and strategy to meet the company’s long-term goals. Mr. Caforio and Mr. Bancroft will continue to report to Lamberto Andreotti, chief executive officer, and will remain members of the senior management team.
 
Also, Murdo Gordon has been appointed president, U.S., reporting to Mr. Caforio, and Beatrice Cazala, executive vice president, Commercial Operations in charge of Global Commercialization, Europe and China, is in the process of transitioning to a new role within the company. Mr. Gordon most recently served as senior vice president, U.S. Oncology.
