WellSpring Adds to Management Team

Ricchezza, Booker, Salmon take on BD, quality, and ops

WellSpring Pharma Services has made three appointments to its management team. Sam Ricchezza has been appointed vice president of business development. Mr. Ricchezza will be responsible for the company’s business development and marketing efforts. He has more than 18 years of experience in the pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing industry. He has held a number business development positions including with Patheon, DPT Laboratories, AAIPharma and WellSpring. Mr. Ricchezza is also a member of Contract Pharma’s Editorial Advisory Board.
           
James Booker has been promoted to vice president of Quality and Regulatory Affairs, responsible for ensuring the continued cGMP compliance of the Oakville facility and joins the senior management team. Mr. Booker has led the organization through several successful Health Canada and FDA regulatory inspections, and continues to play a leadership role in strategic initiatives. He has more than 23 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience with a focus on quality and regulatory affairs. Prior to joining the company in 2001, Mr. Booker held positions with Searle Canada, GenPharm, Roberts Pharmaceuticals, Shire Canada, and Altana Canada.
           
Joe Salmon has been promoted to vice president, Plant Operations. Mr. Salmon has been with WellSpring since its inception in June of 2001. He has more than 30 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, and has held senior management positions in Quality Assurance and Compliance with a number of leading pharmaceutical companies in Canada.
