Pharmaceutical Product Development, LLC (PPD) was awarded a seven-year contract under the Clinical Research Support Services (CRSS) program of the Division of AIDS (DAIDS), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH)

The contract provides support for assessing and auditing investigative sites and labs, capacity building, biostatistics, site training and data management. PPD will provide a range of clinical and other related research services for the NIAID/DAIDS-supported clinical research portfolio and other infectious diseases relevant to HIV.

“We are pleased to help NIAID develop and maintain a strong clinical infrastructure to meet the needs of DAIDS’ scientific agenda,” said William Sharbaugh, chief operating officer of PPD. “Our dedicated professionals are committed to supporting the agencies’ initiatives to improve health.”

This agreement is in addition to a long-standing collaboration between PPD and NIAID that was recently extended through 2024, covering support for research related to HIV or HIV co-infections.
