Rising Pharmaceuticals, the finished dosage form generics subsidiary of ACETO Corporation, is launching Dutasteride softgel capsules 0.5mg, an FDA-approved generic version of GlaxoSmithKline’s Avodart.

According to IMS Health data, U.S. market sales for Dutasteride softgel capsules, which is used for the treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate, were approximately $452 million for the twelve months ended September 30, 2015. This product is one of the three soft gel products acquired from Par Pharmaceuticals in September 2014.
