Metrics Contract Services Names VP of Quality Assurance

Charles Walker Jr. will be responsible for managing all quality-related functions to ensure the success of Metrics’ pharmaceutical operation.

Metrics Contract Services, the contract pharmaceutical development and manufacturing division of Mayne Pharma, has named Charles “Chuck” A. Walker, Jr. as vice president, quality assurance.
 
In this capacity, Walker will be responsible for managing all quality-related functions to ensure the success of Metrics’ pharmaceutical operation. He has a breadth of cGMP knowledge and leadership experience related to quality systems, validation, FDA regulations, ICH guidance, auditing, manufacturing processing, root cause analysis, compliant handling and Six Sigma ASQ training.
 
Walker will report to John Ross, president of Mayne Pharma US and Metrics Contract Services, who said, “Chuck brings extensive quality assurance and regulatory knowledge to this position, as well as an understanding of the rigors of maintaining high standards of quality and compliance to ensure delivery of world-class science to our customers.”
 
Most recently, Walker served as senior director of Quality and Regulatory Compliance for Cambrex. His tenure there began in 2005 and saw him take on a series of management and leadership roles in Quality Assurance through the years. Prior to Cambrex, Walker served as quality assurance manager at Novartis Consumer Health. Earlier in his career, he worked in pharmaceutical manufacturing as a tablet compression and film coating operator.
 
Walker holds a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Physical Education with a minor in Biology from Hillsdale College in Michigan.
