Jones Healthcare Group, a provider of advanced packaging and medication dispensing solutions, is expanding its Qube and FlexRx medication adherence product lines with first-of-its-kind sustainable packaging for pharmacies. The Qube Pro, FlexRx One and FlexRx Reseal are designed to lower environmental footprints for pharmacies and patients.
 
Medication adherence packages, also known as blister packs, organize medications by the time and day doses should be taken, to help patients and their caregivers stay on track with regimens and improve health outcomes. Jones’ new adherence products use good natured Bio-PET, a medically approved bioplastic made from renewable resources without any chemicals of concern, and also recyclable across North America.
 
“We continue to focus on circular design principles for our products to bring more sustainable packaging to the marketplace – it’s our responsibility, and it’s important to our pharmacy customers and the patients under their care,” said Trevor Noye, Senior Vice President, Medication Adherence at Jones. “Not only is our new packaging the first to use leading-edge Bio-PET, but it also uses foil-free backings to improve recyclability.”

The Qube Pro, FlexRx Reseal and FlexRx One are compatible with a range of automated robots that fill blister packs with medications, as well as semi-automated filling technologies from Synergy Medical (SynMed), McKesson Canada, Global Factories and more.
 
Pharmacies can begin using the Qube Pro, FlexRx One and FlexRx Reseal in 1Q22. Jones will release more details on each solution as it becomes available.
