Tjoapack Begins First Production of Pre-Filled Syringes in Europe

Successfully produces its first PFS project for the delivery of Testosterone Cypionate.

Tjoapack, a provider of packaging services for the pharmaceutical industry, has successfully produced its first Pre-Filled Syringe (PFS) project for the delivery of Testosterone Cypionate, a critical product for hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

Tjoapack’s new PFS capabilities encompass the assembly of syringes with and without safety devices, handling automated processes such as plunger rod insertion, safety device application, finger flange attachment, and back-stop addition. The new line can also provide flexibility for the automated insertion of additional components, including needles, as required.

Testosterone cypionate is a synthetic form of the male sex hormone testosterone, commonly administered through intramuscular injections for the treatment of conditions such as hypogonadism and certain types of breast cancer. This project enhances access and safety to handle testosterone cypionate for healthcare providers and their patients for the management of hormone-related conditions. The growing demand for testosterone cypionate injections presents a robust landscape of opportunities for stakeholders in this sector.

Marcelo Cruz, Vice President, Business Development & Marketing at Tjoapack said, “The launch of our new production line for pre-filled syringes marks a major milestone in meeting the growing demand for high-quality, patient-centric pharmaceutical solutions.

“This expansion not only enhances our manufacturing capacity, but also addresses key challenges in the market, such as scalability, supply chain efficiency, and regulatory compliance. As companies face increasing pressure to ensure consistent supply and cost efficiency, our expertise and capabilities position us as a trusted partner, delivering innovation and reliability in a competitive landscape.”
