Siegfried Holding AG has completed its previously announced acquisition of the contract drug-manufacturing businesses Noramco, Extractas Biosciences and Purisys from affiliates of private-equity firm SK Capital Partners, expanding the Swiss group’s footprint in pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing.

The acquisition is part of Siegfried’s EVOLVE+ strategy to expand the company’s presence and capacity in the U.S., the world’s largest pharmaceutical market. The deal adds capacity spanning active pharmaceutical ingredient and specialty-chemistry work.

Meanwhile, SK Capital will retain Halo Pharmaceuticals, a finished-dose contract development and manufacturing organization with sterile fill-finish and controlled-substance capabilities in the U.S. and Canada.

Noramco Group Chief Executive Lee Karras and Chief Financial Officer Alan Majewski will remain in their roles at Halo, according to SK Capital. Halo plans to launch sterile injectable manufacturing at its Whippany, N.J., facility in the second half of this year.

For Siegfried, the acquisition adds businesses that can support pharmaceutical customers across multiple steps of the supply chain, while SK Capital keeps a platform positioned in finished-dose manufacturing.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
