AAPS Reveals Opening and Closing Speakers for PharmSci 360

The event will take place October 20-23 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

AAPS has announced the opening and closing plenary speakers for the 2024 PharmSci 360, taking place October 20-23 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

PharmSci 360 opens on October 20, with a panel discussion on research integrity featuring Ivan Oransky, M.D., Co-founder of Retraction Watch; Brian Nosek, Ph.D., Co-founder and Executive Director of the Center for Open Science; and David Allison, Ph.D., Dean of the School of Public Health at Indiana University. Lynn Kamen, Ph.D., Scientific Officer at BioAgilytix Labs, will moderate the panel.

Then, on October 23, Piet van der Graaf, Pharm.D., Ph.D., Senior Vice President and Head of Quantitative Systems, Pharmacology, at Certara, closes out PharmSci 360 with a talk on AI and AI-assisted approaches in pharmaceutical discovery and development.

“Both research integrity and AI applications to drug development are important topics in today’s pharmaceutical industry,” AAPS 2024 PharmSci 360 Scientific Programming Committee Chair Amit Desai, Ph.D., said. “I strongly encourage anyone who is involved in the pharmaceutical sciences to attend PharmSci 360 and learn from these experts.”

“Credibility in our industry is so crucial,” 2024 AAPS President, Gopi Shankar, Ph.D., M.B.A., FAAPS,  added. “Treatments that improve the lives of patients worldwide must be supported on a foundation of research that is accurate and sincere. I’m also excited about the closing plenary and learning more about how AI will transform the development of drugs in the near future.”
