BASF will increase the prices globally for all pharmaceutical excipients and generic APIs by 10% as of September 1, 2011. This price increase affects the entire excipients portfolio including all binders, disintegrants, coatings, solubilizers, and solvents, and generic API portfolio products such as ibuprofen, caffeine and pseudoephedrine. The company cited the rise in costs for raw materials, energy and labor for the price increase. The company plans to honor all existing contractual obligations.
