Carolina Medical Products, Inc. has changed its name to CMP Pharma to reflect the company’s current business as a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on niche products. The company manufactures and markets branded and generic, prescription and non-prescription drugs to the hospital, long-term care, and retail markets.
 
Gerald Sakowski, chief executive officer of CMP Pharma said, “We are confident that the new name provides a clearer picture of who we are today and where the business is headed in the future. We will continue to work with the marketplace to develop the dosage forms that best meet their particular needs.”
 
Mr. Sakowski was appointed chief executive officer in July of 2013. Previously he served as executive vice president of commercial operations at Metrics, Inc. based in Greenville, NC.
