Codis Adds Business Development Leaders

Codis, a global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) specializing in spray drying, amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs), and advanced particle engineering, has announced three strategic appointments within its Business Development function.

Together, these appointments reflect Codis’ accelerating growth trajectory and its commitment to building a world‑class commercial organization positioned for sustained expansion in the U.S. and Europe. As customer demand continues to rise and commercial activity increases, Codis is also preparing to bring additional spray‑drying capacity online through a forthcoming PSD4 large-scale spray dryer, further strengthening the company’s ability to support new programs and long‑term partnerships.

Pedro Fernandes Botas, Business Development Director, Europe

Codis has appointed Pedro Fernandes Botas as Business Development Director, Europe. With a strong commercial background across Lotus Pharmaceutical, Faes Farma, Bene, Labatec Pharma, and Hovione, Botas brings deep expertise in building strategic partnerships and opening new market opportunities across the region. His role is focused on expanding Codis’ European presence in spray drying and related particle‑engineering services while supporting the evolution of the company’s commercial approach.

Suzanne Brady, Ph.D., Business Development Director, U.S.

Suzanne Brady, Ph.D. has been appointed as Business Development Director, U.S. She brings extensive experience from Hovione, Mikart, Serán Bioscience, and Lonza, along with a proven record of driving commercial success and developing strategic alliances. Her responsibility centers on identifying and developing new business opportunities in the U.S. pharmaceutical spray drying market and contributing to Codis’ broader commercial strategy.

Derek Deckrader, Business Development Director, U.S.

Lastly, Derek Deckrader has joined Codis as Business Development Director, U.S., based in St. Louis. Deckrader brings significant commercial experience from Pharma Tech, Martin Bauer, and Sensient, with a strong track record in client engagement and solution development. His responsibilities extend across Codis’ full U.S. portfolio, emphasizing aqueous spray drying, microencapsulation and granulation technologies, value-added ingredient solutions for the vitamins, minerals, and supplements (VMS) industry, and finished dose manufacturing services that enable end-to-end product development and commercialization. His appointment strengthens the company’s ability to serve a wider range of customers across its full portfolio.
