DaVita Clinical Research (DCR) has opened a 47,000-sq.-ft. clinical central lab facility in Minneapolis, MN. The DCR Central Lab will be equipped to generate approximately 114,000 tests on 60,000 samples daily. The facility has instrumentation for chemistry, hematology, and microbiology tests.

Each clinical project will have a dedicated project manager to help ensure that client requirements are met and communication with the operational team is maintained. The company will also have a web-enabled data access system that allows fully compliant order entry and reporting at any time.

According to the company, DCR’s central lab features a unique IATA-compliant, storage-friendly design that results in significant shipping cost reductions. The company has a worldwide partnership with FedEx, which delivers samples to the lab three times daily.

“High throughput and customer service continue to be our prized virtues,” said president of DCR, Chris Rucker. “We are pleased about the expansion of our central laboratory capabilities, and look forward to seeing what the future holds for DCR.”
