Evonik Launches Global Network to Optimize Cell Culture Media

New network aims to provide comprehensive solutions to address upstream challenges in cell culture, particularly in the optimization of cell culture media.

Evonik, a global provider of specialty chemicals, has announced the establishment of a new Global Competence Network for Cell Culture Solutions which aims to provide comprehensive solutions to address upstream challenges in cell culture, particularly in the optimization of cell culture media.

The network brings together a diverse team of experts in chemistry, cell biology, bioprocessing, and media optimization from across the globe. By combining their expertise, Evonik seeks to empower customers to manufacture cell culture-based therapies more efficiently and effectively.

The new initiative aligns with Evonik’s recently introduced “Advance Precision Biosolutions” innovation growth area within its Nutrition & Care division. This area focuses on developing biosurfactants, as well as cosmetic and pharmaceutical solutions that improve health, quality of life, and sustainability.

“With our new competence network, we go beyond by cross-connecting skills, driving innovation and sustainably propelling healthcare into the future,” said Hans Henning Wenk, Vice President R&D for the Health Care business at Evonik.

The network will leverage Evonik’s portfolio of ingredients, including cQrex peptides, plant-based cholesterol, and specialty carbohydrates, to develop tailored system solutions for cell culture media. By integrating products, technologies, and services, these solutions aim to enhance process efficiency, scalability, and product quality.

The Global Competence Network for Cell Culture Solutions has multiple locations worldwide, including Germany, Singapore, and the United States. The network will serve as the primary resource for customers seeking to optimize their cell culture media and processes.
