The groninger Group, an international manufacturer of filling and closing machines for the pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare and cosmetics industries, is expanding with the construction of a 54,000-sq.-ft. assembly hall and a three-story office complex covering around 21,500 sq.-ft. on its Crailsheim campus.

The approximately €30 million investment is the largest single investment in the company’s 45-year history and the second major expansion within four years. Back in 2021, the company opened a new logistics center in Crailsheim with an investment of around €20 million.

“We’re fortunate to be experiencing steady growth. Our order volume remains strong, even though the intense momentum of recent years has eased somewhat,” said Jens Groninger, CEO of the groninger group. “Our capacities are increasingly reaching their limits. The need for additional production and office space remains high.”

Construction officially began at the end of June, with steel construction scheduled to start in January 2026, and completion and commissioning planned for mid-2027.

“Production space is a valuable resource. It must be used wisely,” added Jens Groninger. Today, smooth intralogistics are central to building design – even in production: short distances, well-timed parts supply from central logistics, and a solid material flow to ensure just-in-time production. “The pharmaceutical lines we build in Crailsheim are getting larger – some production lines stretch for meters,” said Groninger.
