Halozyme Taps David Ramsay as Interim Chief Financial Officer

Halozyme Therapeutics is appointing David Ramsay Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective March 23, 2026. The active executive search for a permanent CFO will continue; Halozyme says that search is “well underway and progressing.”

Ramsay has agreed to remain on board until a permanent CFO is named.

Chief Financial Officer, Again

The appointment marks the third time Ramsay will oversee Halozyme’s financial operations. He served two previous tenures as Halozyme’s CFO, from 2003 to 2009 and again from 2013 to 2015.

In that time, Halozyme says, Ramsay led significant financial growth—from a private enterprise to a billion-dollar public pharmaceutical company.

To this role, even on an interim basis, Ramsay brings 30-plus years of financial leadership in biotech and life sciences. This includes a stint as Senior Vice President and CFO of Bonti, preceding its 2018 sale to Allergan. His experience extends to capital markets, corporate finance, investor relations, and operational scale-up.

Halozyme Welcomes Familiar Face, Looks for New

“David has made a lasting impact on Halozyme’s evolution, and we are fortunate to welcome him back,” Torley added.

Accordingly, the company says Ramsay has “played a key role in establishing Halozyme’s foundational financial and technology commercialization infrastructure.”

As far as finding a permanent CFO, Halozyme says it has engaged a leading executive search firm for the purpose. Specifically, the company seeks candidates who possess a combination of capital markets expertise and strategy.
