Hans Thunem has been elected chief executive officer and a board member of Harlan Laboratories, Inc. Mr. Thunem previously served as the company’s group president of research models and services business. He has held senior management positions in the oil, high technology and life sciences industries. Prior to joining Harlan, he was chief executive officer at Lifelabs, a medical diagnostics provider in Canada.

“Our criteria was to find a person with great leadership skills, strategic vision, operational experience, a track record of success and who shares our excitement about the future of Harlan,” said Paul Clark, interim chief executive officer and board member. “We feel that Hans embodies everything we are looking for in a new chief executive officer and we are highly enthusiastic about our company’s direction under his leadership.”
