Harmony Labs has changed its name to Ei and announced its new industry classification:
A Pharmaceutical SolutionWorks. “We’ve created a new name and classification for what we do to reflect the dramatic shift in the way we provide value to our customers. We bring the best development and manufacturing practices and a high-level understanding of branding into outsourced manufacturing. For the right company, we offer a partnership they just can’t get anywhere else,” said Michael Kane, chief executive officer.

The name Ei is derived from the chemical concept of ionic bonding. “It is also an analogous explanation of what the company has become: Ei uses state-of-the-art science and manufacturing in the creation of products, but also forms unparalleled bonds with their partnering companies, helping them to move their brands forward,” according to a company statement. This approach “moves far beyond the definition of a traditional Contract Manufacturing Organization, and instead focuses on bringing solutions to customers, and above all, protecting their brands.” Ei can be found at www.eisolutionworks.com.

In 2009-2010, Harmony Labs established a new management team behind Mr. Kane, with industry experts in manufacturing, formulation, regulatory, sales and human resources. The management team averages more than 20 years of experience in their given fields and has been successful building capabilities in top-tier pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods companies, according to a company statement.

In addition, the company constructed and opened a brand new 165,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility, adding the ability to produce NDA and ANDA products. Comprehensive testing and development labs were added, and best-in-class systems for safety, R&D, formulation, operations and project management were implemented.
