Indian pharmaceutical company, Ipca Laboratories, through two of its subsidiaries—Ipca Pharmaceuticals Inc USA and Onyx Scientific Ltd.—has acquired a NC-based contract manufacturing organization (CMO), Pisgah Labs, for $9.65 millions.

Pisgah Labs started operations in 1981 as a contract manufacturer and developer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APls) and intermediates. It will continue to operate out of its North Carolina manufacturing facility under the Pisgah trade name.

According to Ipca, Onyx and Pisgah’s capabilities in chemistry services will dovetail effectively with its capabilities in supporting Phase II to commercial scale programs and also enable the company to manufacture small volume APls for the U.S. market.

Ipca bought Onyx back in 2011, which was its first move outside India.

In 2017 Pisgah had a total income of $2.89 millions and EBIDTA of $1.14 million.
