Michael R. Mascarenas has been appointed as a new senior formulation scientist at Metrics Contract Services. Mr. Mascarenas will provide clients with quality formulation and process development of early-phase oral dosage forms, and oversees the manufacture of clinical trial materials to support client-sponsored research studies.
 
Mr. Mascarenas joins the company from Sandoz, where he planned and executed engineering, scale up, abbreviated new drug application and registration batches, and in-sourced DEA schedule products. Prior to that, he worked as a formulation scientist with Glatt Air Techniques. Mascarenas’ areas of expertise include Lean Six Sigma methodologies and Quality by Design principles. He also worked as a development scientist and analytical scientist at Metrics from 2004 through 2006.
