Mettler Toledo (MT) has joined the Organization for Machine Automation and Control (OMAC) and its Product Inspection Division will participate in OMAC’s Packaging Workgroup. The MT Product Inspection group provides checkweighing, metal detection, X-ray inspection and machine vision inspection technologies for food, industrial, and pharmaceutical manufacturers and packagers worldwide.
 
MT provides PackML capability, an OMAC-developed method that provides a common method of communicating machine-state information for all forms of packaging equipment, on all four types of its product inspection equipment.
 
OMAC was formed to allow manufacturers and users to share best practices in order to improve production operations. OMAC’s OPW group is currently working to develop further packaging industry standards for safety communication, information presentation on user interfaces, signaling methods, and equipment specifications
