Several Michigan companies have formed a strategic pharmaceutical chemistry, manufacturing and control development (CMC) alliance called the Michigan CMC Alliance. This alliance includes drug development contract service providers from preclinical to clinical, and regulatory submission.

“The alliance leverages the experience, expertise and scientific infrastructure of each member, as well as the intellectual capital within each organization,” according to a press statement. The alliance aims to utilize its collective expertise to provide services to those in need of pharmaceutical CMC resources and strategies for comprehensive drug development.

The Michigan CMC Alliance includes: Ash Stevens, Inc., a GMP API development and manufacturing provider; BioSTAT Consultants, a provider of statistical services in design and analysis; Eurofins AvTech Laboratories, Inc., a GMP and GLP analytical services provider; Global Clinical Connections, LLC, a clinical supplies management company; Pharmaceutical Development Consulting, LLC, a formulation development and project management company; PharmaMed Resources, LLC, a quality assurance provider; ProReg Resources, LLC, a regulatory consulting services company; and Velesco Pharmaceutical Services, a formulation, analytical development and GMP manufacturing provider.

“There is an abundance of pharma industry knowledge within Michigan; niche experts in each phase or components necessary to propel a drug forward through the development process. It seemed a natural fit to combine our forces in a strategic alliance,” stated Bill Pfund, a director at Eurofins AvTech Laboratories. “Each company shares a common mission and vision along with a dedication to delivering quality, on-time results with the highest degree of scientific integrity.”
