NextPharma has opened its Cold Chain and Logistics (CLS) warehouse in Werne, Germany. The facility has modern temperature monitoring (under floor heating, hot-air blowers and air conditioning). The new facility, located between Münster and Dortmund, has 15,800m² of warehouse space and 1,000m² of office space. It can house as many as 26,000 euro-pallets, starting with an initial 19,000 euro-pallets.

The building meets pharmaceutical service provider requirements and has two fire sections, seven conventional docks, one jumbo dock, and one insulated dock. The company has wholesaler authorization (§52a AMG) and anticipates a manufacturing license (§13 AMG) for manual re-packaging, bundling and labeling of secondary packaging early next year.

Franck Latrille, chief executive officer, NextPharma Technologies, said, “We are proud to mark the official opening of the Werne site and would like to thank our customers, our financial backers, Stadtsparkasse Werne, and most of all our employees for their tremendous support in the realization of this very important strategic facility. The initiative to build the new warehouse came about as a result of more and more products in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries requiring specialist handling and storage and we are excited at the prospect of being able to meet our customers’ requirements to an even higher standard.”
