PerkinElmer, Inc.’s OneSource, a component of its Analytical Sciences and Lab Services business, has entered into an agreement with global lab supply and distribution company VWR International to develop a joint service offering.

The arrangement provides multi-vendor maintenance and qualification service for a variety of lab equipment from pipettes and pH meters, serviced by VWR, to multi-component analytical instrumentation, such as Liquid Chromatography/tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS/MS), serviced by OneSource. This approach is designed to allow customers to access the expertise of both companies under a consolidated service contract.

“Our goal is to reduce customers’ service and maintenance costs while increasing scientific productivity. We continue to make investments to further this goal and to help our customers achieve their pressing scientific, operational and financial objectives,” said Dusty Tenney, president of Analytical Sciences & Laboratory Services, PerkinElmer. “Through this agreement with VWR, we have created a service solution that addresses a wide range of laboratory equipment for optimum cost-savings, service model simplification and lab productivity.”

In August of last year, the two companies entered an agreement under which PerkinElmer spectroscopy and chromatography consumables and minor accessories would be made available through VWR.
