Evonik is selling selected production assets for pharmaceutical ingredients in Hanau, Germany to the contract manufacturer ProChem Group.

Evonik’s Health Care business aims to streamline its asset footprint to focus investment and growth in its core areas of expertise. These include advanced oral and injectable drug delivery technologies, and precision biosolutions such as lipids for mRNA and gene delivery, and advanced cell culture ingredients.

“Refining our focus and aligning our assets enables us to deliver even more strongly in the areas where we create the highest value for our customers,” said Guido Skudlarek, head of the Health Care business line.

Evonik’s Hanau site has long supported the pharmaceutical industry with a portfolio of APIs, intermediates, and pharmaceutical lipids. By acquiring the facilities, the ProChem Group will strengthen its production capabilities, enhance its technological expertise, and expand its services to pharmaceutical customers.

“We are gaining state-of-the-art facilities, quality-assured processes, and an excellent industrial infrastructure at the Hanau site,” said Jörg Blumhoff, Chief Sales Officer at the ProChem Group. “This enables us to significantly expand our service portfolio and offer our customers even more comprehensive, scalable, and regulatory-compliant solutions in the future.”
