Lisa T. Grimes has been appointed president and chief executive officer of PurThread Technologies. Also, Dr. Tom Inglesby, director and chief executive officer of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Center for Health Security, has joined PurThread’s board of directors.
 
Ms. Grimes has 28 years of experience in the life sciences industry. She was formerly chief executive officer of InSite Clinical Trials, a full-service CRO, which was acquired by United Healthcare. Prior to InSite, she served as vice president of business development at Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD) and served for 10 years as a member of the executive advisory group of Campbell Alliance and its subsidiary, the Pharmaceutical Institute. 
 
Dr. Inglesby is internationally recognized in the fields of public health preparedness, pandemic flu and epidemic planning, and biosecurity. His expertise is recognized throughout the medical field, having authored or co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewed articles, reports, and commentaries on a variety of health and security issues.
