Q Laboratories has completed the construction of its new, 5000-sq.-ft. Microbiology R&D Lab facility in Cincinnati, OH. “This new facility will allow our Microbiology R&D Lab to not only continue to perform large-scale validation projects but also enable us to execute multiple projects simultaneously in a more efficient and expeditious manner,” said David Goins, president of Q Laboratories.
 
The new lab performs an array of third-party validations and research projects, and, in addition to client-designed studies, performs AOAC Official Methods of analysis and performance tested methods studies, microbiological challenge studies, sanitizer and disinfectant efficacy studies, and MicroVal Certification studies.
 
The lab features UV lighting in the HVAC system, multiple lab areas to prevent microbial contamination, a dedicated area for DNA-based applications, and special flooring, wall, and ceiling materials to optimize molecular technology applications.
