Roquette, a provider of plant-based ingredients and pharmaceutical excipients, has launched POLYOX Extended Stability (ES) packaging, an innovation designed to deliver improvements in excipient stability, handling, and environmental impact.

Roquette developed the new ES packaging format for POLYOX Water Soluble Resins (WSR) to preserve their high-performance characteristics in complex drug delivery systems.

POLYOX ES packaging offers a 24-month retest interval—up to a 300% increase compared to traditional formats. According to Roquette, the extended stability helps reduce product waste, minimize retesting, and improve inventory control.

“POLYOX ES packaging is a direct response to what our customers told us they needed: longer stability, easier handling, and more sustainable packaging,” said Tom Gilbert, Global Product Manager at Roquette. “It’s smarter packaging that delivers stronger performance—and it’s available now.”

The new 20-kilogram packaging format is designed to be compact and manageable for handling. This format aims to enhance storage efficiency and flexibility within global supply chains.

Additionally, the packaging is supported by regional warehousing and global availability, with the stated goal of supporting business continuity and supply assurance.

Plus, according to Roquette, the packaging contributes to waste reduction. When the outer cardboard box is recycled, the solution is reported to reduce landfill and incineration waste by over 80% compared to traditional packaging.
