Schreiner MediPharm, a developer and manufacturer of functional labels for the healthcare industry, and HERMA, an expert in labeling machines, have collaborated to introduce an integrated RFID labeling solution.

The combination of robust RFID-Labels and precision labeling technology enables process stability and reliable results, even in high-speed applications common to the pharmaceutical industry.

According to the company, Schreiner MediPharm’s RFID-Labels feature a unique design—thanks to a special construction that protects the integrated RFID chip, the labels provide high resistance against mechanical stress and impacts. The RFID-Labels are suitable even for containers with narrow radii, such as vials or syringes, and enable easy application in pharmaceutical manufacturing. RFID functionality remains assured from production to final use, and the RFID-Label can be reliably read at any time.

In combination with HERMA’s process-optimized labeling technology, which is specifically designed for material protection, the result is a system enabling reliable RFID integration even in instances of challenging applications and high cycle rates.

Tests on HERMA’s wrap-around labeling machine 132M HC, developed for the pharmaceutical industry, show that the breakage rate of the label-integrated RFID chips practically tends towards zero, whereas clearly higher failure rates may occur with conventional standard labels.
