Global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) Sterling Pharma Solutions has appointed Mathew Minardi as its president of U.S. operations.
 
The appointment follows Sterling’s acquisition of contract research and development specialist, CiVentiChem’s U.S. facility in North Carolina.
 
Based at the North Carolina site, Mathew will head up Sterling’s North American operations. He brings with him a Ph.D in organic chemistry and a wealth of experience from previous roles at Accord Healthcare, Johnson and Johnson’s Noramco and Ampac Fine Chemicals.

The company’s acquisition of the CiVentiChem site is set to allow it to enhance its chemistry development capabilities to support pre-clinical and early phase clinical supply.

Sterling Pharma Solutions was recently acquired by GHO Capital, a specialist healthcare investment firm based in London, UK. The management team at GHO is set to provide guidance as the company continues to expand its global presence. Sterling Pharma Solutions is the UK’s largest contract provider of small molecule API development and manufacturing services to the global pharmaceutical industry.
