TruTag Technologies will exhibit at the BIO International Convention, June 19-22, in San Diego, CA in the Hawaii Life Sciences booth #743. Barry McDonogh, senior vice president of business development will showcase TruTag’s custom on-product high-security solution.
 
The BIO Convention is hosted by the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) representing more than 1,100 biotechnology companies, academics institutions, state biotechnology centers and related organizations across the U.S. and in more than 30 other nations. BIO members are involved in the research and development of innovative healthcare, agriculture, industrial and environmental biotechnology products.

TruTag Technologies has developed a customizable, high-security solution designed to provide absolute certainty of a product’s identity and enable product diagnostics to combat counterfeiting and unauthorized diversion. TruTag has introduced an advanced microparticle made of silicon dioxide (SiO₂), a well-known ingredient that has been used in food and medicine for decades and has been affirmed as “generally recognized as safe” or “GRAS” by the FDA.
 
These TruTag microtags can be safely added to most solid oral dosage form (SODF) drugs without modifying the manufacturing process. Once included in the medicine itself, the tags can last indefinitely through the product’s lifecycle and can be scanned using one of TruTag’s portable handheld reader. The TruTag platform uses a patented process for uniquely encoding signatures into these silica particles.
