West Pharmaceutical Services announced the death of George W. Ebright on April 24, 2006 following a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Mr. Ebright served as a director of the Company since 1992.

“We are saddened to report the death of Mr. George Ebright,” said Donald E. Morel, Ph.D., West’s chairman and chief executive officer. “He has served as an active member of our board for more than 14 years, most recently on the audit and finance committees. Throughout his years of service, Mr. Ebright made significant contributions to the direction and welfare of this company. We owe him a debt of gratitude and extend our heartfelt sympathies to his family.”
