Alan P. Breau, Ph.D., has been appointed vice president of MPI Research’s Bioanalytical and Analytical Services (B/AS) division. Dr. Breau has expertise in mass spectrometry, metabolite identification, pharmacokinetics, and bioanalytical chemistry. He is a cofounder of the Consortium for Metabonomic Toxicology (COMET) and established a metabonomics group that provided toxicity assessments and biomarker support.

Dr. Breau has more than 30 years of scientific experience in the biopharmaceutical industry having served in the following roles: consultant at IDSC Biotech Network, senior director of DMPK and Bioanalytical Chemistry at Metabasis Therapeutics, senior director of Analytical Sciences at Theravance, research fellow at Amgen, director of Pharmacokinetics and Bioanalytical Chemistry at Searle/Pharmacia/Pfizer, product applications lab manager at Applied Biosystems, senior scientist at Allergan, and senior pharmacologist at Lilly.
