Marken has completed its depot facility in Santiago, Chile and began construction in Sao Paolo, Brazil, reaching the final phase of its global depot network. The new Santiago facility will be GMP compliant and is located 10 kilometers from the international airport in Santiago. The depot will now undergo validation and will be made available to clients in 1Q14.

The Santiago facility is the third depot in Latin America and brings the total global network to eight.  The company plans to complete two additional depots in Latin America, one in Lima, Peru and one in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Construction of both depots is underway with anticipated openings in April and June, respectively.

Wes Wheeler, chief executive officer of Marken, said, “We are proud to announce the continued progress we are making in the development of Marken’s pharmaceutical service depot network. Our expanded presence in Latin America ensures that Marken will continue to lead the way in providing complete service inbound and outbound, in a fully integrated logistics solution to our pharmaceutical clients. Our new services including clinical kit production, pharmaceutical storage, inventory tracking and drug / patient reconciliation adds to our already solid position in the transportation of clinical samples to central laboratories throughout the world. We look forward to future announcements as we make our vision a reality.”
