Aptar CSP Technologies, Booth 1734, is launching a service called Xcelerate, offering moisture- and oxygen-sensitive tablets and capsules designed to expedite time to market and enhance stability using its Activ-Blister portfolio.  A key component of this new process is the design and verification of a blister package with necessary levels of moisture and/or oxygen protection for each pharmaceutical application. The Xcelerate services condense the entire active package design, testing and implementation process. The comprehensive and hands-on approach also includes capabilities to produce clinical trial and stability samples, regulatory support and consulting and testing during commercial implementation.  
 
Aptar CSP Technologies’ Activ-Blister solutions control the internal atmosphere of individual blister cavities, allowing for improved product performance and enhanced shelf-life, according to the company. Using silica gel and molecular sieve technology, outfitted blisters can absorb tailored amounts of water vapor, oxygen, or a combination of the two, and can be produced in shapes and sizes to accommodate any tablet and capsule size. The technology can be applied via heat-staking without the use of adhesives and without changes to packaging lines.
